Hole by Hole Course Overview
Hole 1
First tee jitters can be real! Welcome to our 1st hole -with an inviting tee shot and wide landing area. Aggressive players may want to push the limit off the tee and take on the narrow fairway around the pond to have a shorter approach. It’s a tough green that slopes severely back to front. Local tip -play to the front of the green as being long will leave a difficult up and down
Hole 2
The first of four challenging par 3’s on the course. Play ranges from 130 yards to 212 yards. This hole usually plays into the wind so choose your club wisely. The green is receptive to a good tee shot, and slopes from right to left. Aiming at the pin is not always the line of choice on this narrow green. Local tip -a ball landing short has a good chance of bouncing on the green.
Hole 3
A short yet challenging par 4 with a pond to test you off the tee. There are 2 ways to play this hole – aggressive players will tee off with hopes to carry the pond allowing for a shorter approach into a generous green. Layup off the tee short of the pond and have a mid length shot into a green guarded by a bunker on the left. Local tip -play to your strength off the tee.
Hole 4
A risk-reward par 4. Aggressive players will push their tee shot over the ponds that cut into the fairway to allow for a shorter approach. A difficult green that slopes from back to front and a spine that can cause balls to finish left or right of the green. A conservative tee shot should be left center of the fairway and keep you out of trouble.
Hole 5
Bombs away, this is the 1st of 3 par 5’s. Tee it high and watch it fly. The decision on where to leave your 2nd shot is the hardest choice. A green that is guarded by a bunker on the right side and slopes right to left. It can be a tricky green to hold. Local tip – leave your second shot down the left center to allow a better angle to approach the green.
Hole 6
One of our shorter holes, but that doesn’t always mean easiest! Hit your tee shot well and you have a short shot to attack the green. Lay back off the tee to your strength and attack with your favorite club. The green has 2 tiers so getting the ball on the right level is very important. Local tip -don’t be long over the green!
Hole 7
A demanding tee shot awaits you on 7, tree lined down the right, heavy fescue down the left so placement is key on this slight dogleg right. Green is very accessible with a flighted ball. Green slopes back to front and right to left to place it properly and avoid the right greenside bunker.
Hole 8
A friendly tee shot here but do not take it for granted. Hitting it well to help set up your second shot is the key to scoring on this hole. The 2nd shot will test your concentration and golf ability. This hole often plays into the wind -you’ll need to wager whether to go for the green in two or hold back and play if safe.
Hole 9
A short and fun par 3. This hole plays slightly uphill and usually into the wind. The green is protected by a bunker on the right, a false front and a slope to run off the left side. Local tip – play to the center of the green, 2 putt and head to the Snack Shack!
Hole 10
The tee shot isn’t intimidating at all.. Except if you’re hitting from behind the pond. It’s a nice wide fairway, so chase it up there as far as you can. The hole plays slightly uphill into one of our flattest greens so you can be aggressive as the green is very receptive.
Hole 11
Hitting the fairway is key on this tee shot, as it will help make the 2nd shot a lot easier. Try to avoid the right side -the tree and the fescue are going to make a difficult second shot. The green is guarded by 2 bunkers in the front so be sure to hit a shot that will carry the bunkers. Green slopes back to front and being below the flag on this green is crucial.
Hole 12
Our Par 3 12th hole requires a precise tee shot as this green can make it difficult if played out of position. A severely sloped back to front green and a ridge that runs to the left can make holding this green difficult. A ball finishing front left is not as bad as it seems.
Hole 13
Here is your chance to get one back with a shorter par 5. A good tee shot can get you down the hill, favour the right center of the fairway and give yourself a look at the green. A pond guards against the second shot so take enough club to carry the pond and you have a good chance for birdie or maybe even eagle!. If you don’t have the distance to carry the pond on your second, don’t sweat -lay up to the pond and you’ll have 100 yards to the pin.
Hole 14
A demanding tee shot awaits you on the 14th hole. Length and accuracy is the key to having a chance for par. One of our tougher greens with a severe slope from back to front. We never said golf was easy!
Hole 15
Options a plenty on this par 4. An aggressive tee shot can get you closer to the green and leave a short approach or lay back and keep it in the fairway. With a false front and a slight turtle back green getting on two is not a guarantee.
Hole 16
A demanding tee shot awaits you here at 16, tight fairway guarded by water down the right side, you will want to push your drive as far as you safely can as the 2nd shot is majority all over water, so being confident in your shot selection is key to getting this ball on the green. If you’d rather, take the left side and stay clear of the water!
Hole 17
All you got on this one, leave nothing in the bag. Our longest par 5 will take three good shots to get on the green. A generous fairway both off the tee and for your 2nd shot will lead you to your challenging approach shot to a firm green that makes holding this green a real challenge.
Hole 18
A final hole to test the nerves under pressure, our 18th hole par 3 is protected by water left and a deep bunker right. There is room to run it up the middle if you so choose. The green is very receptive to high flighted golf shots. This makes a great finishing hole during friendly competitions!

What is your Cancellation Policy?
Please be aware of our cancellation policy before booking a tee-time.
All tee-time bookings require a valid credit card on file. We require 24 hours cancellation or amendment to tee-time bookings.
What does this actually mean?
You must call or email the Pro Shop 24 hours or more in advance to cancel or change the number of players in your booking without penalty. Failure to do so (or doing so within the 24 hour window) will result in the card on file being charged the posted green fee rate for the booking if the group does not show up, or shows up with less players than has been booked.
If the tee-time falls within the 24 hr booking policy timeframe, then the tee-time automatically becomes non-refundable.
Credit Card will not be charged at time of booking, unless you opt to pay online.
Credit Card will only be charged in case of a late cancellation, short-show, or no-show.
A greenfee “raincheck” for the equivalent of the charged amount will be issued to the booker.
Exception to the above policy is if the golf course is deemed unplayable or the golf course is not able to permit power carts, due to weather on the day of play.
Players repetitively not following the cancellation policy as outlined herein will be subject to suspension of playing privileges.
What is your Dress Code?
White Squirrel Golf Club offers members and guests a relaxed and fun golfing experience! We want you to be comfortable, but with that in mind, we still like to maintain modest dress guidelines. Jeans and athletic lifestyle wear are welcome, but please no ripped jeans or cut-offs. Swimsuits, short shorts, tank tops and halters should be reserved for the beach.
Our maintenance staff works hard to keep our greens in mint condition, so running shoes or soft spikes only please. Members & guests must wear footwear at all times for their health and safety. You can visit our pro-shop if you need golf attire that is comfortable and compliant.
What is your Raincheck Policy?
Tee-it up in the rain OR if it starts raining during your round, receive a rain check for the full value of your guest fee. If you purchase an 18-hole green fee, you will be entitled to an 18-hole rain check. The same applies for 9-hole guest fees & power cart rentals.
Rainchecks are valid for the season of purchase only. Rainchecks are issued via e-mail address of the tee time booker.

How far in advance can public players book tee times?
Public players can book tee times up to 7 days in advance. If you are planning a group outing or event, please reach out to our Events Team at [email protected]
What is your Slow Play policy?
One of the biggest complaints we hear from golfers is about slow play. Our on-course player assistants are there to help keep everyone’s experience enjoyable and have the authority to let groups know they are falling behind or suggest they skip a hole to catch up. Please remind your guests it is their responsibility to keep up with the group ahead of them. Our entire team works hard to maintain our golf course and beautiful facility. Please let your guests know they are expected to repair ball marks, rake sand traps, and fill divots.
What is your Food & Alcohol policy?
We want everyone to have fun –just in a respectful and safe manner! All food and beverage products must be supplied by White Squirrel Golf Club. We are mandated under our license agreement with the A.G.C.O. to provide you with these products. We enforce a zero-tolerance policy for outside alcohol. No alcoholic beverages are permitted on the course unless purchased from White Squirrel Golf Club. We reserve the right to revoke playing privileges from any participants bringing outside alcohol. We have multiple outlets you can purchase beverages from as well as mobile drink cart service!
Do you have any tips for Golfing With Kids?
We encourage you to bring kids and new golfers to White Squirrel, here’s some things to keep in mind before you come!
1. Book an “Off-Peak” time
No one likes being rushed, especially new golfers, so pick a time that is “quiet” on the golf course. Later in the evening is perfect for this. There may also be specials offered at this time to encourage new golfers and families! If other golfers do catch you, let them play through.
2. Strategies for success
Do you remember your first time golfing? The hole can seem miles long when you are a kid!
- Play a modified scramble -everyone tees off then pick the best drive and play the hole from there
- Play alternate shot -a great way for everyone to contribute, take turns hitting the same ball
- Tee-it up from 100yds in for your Junior to start making Pars & keep them engaged around the green
- Time-saving ideas like a “hand wedge” out of the sand or a “magic putt” can save frustration for everyone.
- Don’t focus on the Score
Be an example of a good attitude for your junior. The score doesn’t matter! Mark each hole with a Thumbs Up or Thumbs Down…smiley face or frown.. What is more important is proper etiquette, where to stand when other players are hitting, respecting the golf course, and repairing ball marks and divots.
4. Set up a mini competition
It doesn’t have to be fancy… whoever makes the longest putt gets a toonie, or maybe Dad buys everyone ice cream after the game! Nothing motivates kids more than a little incentive.
5. Have fun!
If your child is not 100% into the “golf” that’s okay. You don’t have to get through all 9 holes. They probably like riding the cart, getting to spend time together, looking for turtles in the pond, or chicken fingers on the patio. For new golfers, focus on making some memories, the good shots will come!
6. Plan for snacks, water, & sunscreen! Just like at the beach, a couple hours in the sun can take alot out of your new golfers. Dress for the weather and pack extra layers in case you are still out when the sun goes down. Don’t forget bugspray! Our proshop has lots of snacks and drinks to choose from if you don’t pack your own.
Is your Restaurant open to the Public?
Yes! Our restaurant is open to the public -you don’t have to be a golfer to enjoy dining. We recommend reservations any time you know you’ll be dining with us so you don’t miss out. As our restaurant is open to the public, we cannot gaurantee seating to golfers who have not reserved a table in advance.
Is your Driving Range open to the Public?
Yes! Our driving range is open to the public. You do not need to book a stall in advance. Driving range hours vary depending on daylight hours. Driving range spaces are limited during Junior Camps (July & August -Monday-Thursday mornings).
